They then have to add the item to the cart and provide payment and shipping information in order for the conversion to be complete. On the product’s page, they are able to see more information about the product, as well as shipping information, how many other people have shown interest in this item, and feedback from others that have bought the item. To turn interest into a purchase, a user must first click on their desired item from the search. This will ultimately lead to an increase in revenue, as the page will receive more attention. The images of the items, including those in the advertising space, should be reduced in size so that users can easily see more options and feel encouraged to search. As Etsy is just a site where consumers sell to other consumers, they get a percentage of each sale. However, these advertisements also bring in revenue. For revenue maximization, the amount of advertisement space on this page dramatically decreases the user’s ability to find what they are looking for, and if the quality of advertisement products are low, it may discourage the user from looking further on the site. Towards the bottom of the page, items that fit the search are organized based on the amount of times that product has been sold on Etsy. Items that fall under the keywords search, but have also paid Etsy to be advertised, appear first and take up most of the screen. Users are able to condense the search by using the options on the left side of the screen to further specify what they are looking for. When the search is completed, the users will see the below page appear. That portion of the site will be the area explored in this post.
